Gareth has been a drummer for 35 years playing the club circuit in South Wales in Rock and Country Bands, from the age of 14. At 19, he moved to Germany and garnered some success with the band Groovycide, including an album release and a Tour with Fish (Ex-Marrillion). He would also appear on stage with acts such as Slade and The Drifters. On returning to the UK he returned to the pub, club and function circuit in Hampshire with Rotorhead, and Herefordshire with Rubble before moving home to the Swansea Valley.
James started playing the piano as a kid, but wasn't much of a fan. When he got his first guitar as a teenager, that was when the music bug bit him. From then on, he played in a variety of acts spanning a variety of genres. Genres ranging across metal, punk, prog, rock 'n' roll, pop and ska to name a few. For the most part, he enjoyed any style of music that was uptempo and great to dance to! All the time James was playing in bands, he came to enjoy writing music, as well as producing EDM. But no matter what he's doing musically, he much prefers to play it all live!
Having studied music for 5 years in the bright lights of Brighton, Huw is no stranger to the function and live performance scene. Huw has fronted a variety of originals and covers bands, as well as performing regularly on the open mic circuit around the South Coast. In 2015, he auditioned for a function band agency that helped kickstart his performing musician career. Over the years following, he played extensively across the South East for weddings, parties and corporate events. Predominantly fronting his own band, there were many opportunities for Huw to stand in for other guitarist/vocalists in other bands on the roster, so he is no stranger to quickly gelling with other musicians whilst maintaining a consistently high quality performance. In early 2021, Huw was gearing up for a life at sea, having successfully auditioned for a role in an acoustic duo set to work on a variety of cruise ships. Since that came to a halt due to the goings on in the world, Huw has relocated to Swansea where he teaches guitar privately and met the rest of the Valley Uprising crew.
Zoe has been singing since a young age. Her first foray into live performance being in musical theatre from the age of ten, including a performance at Her Majesties Royal Theatre London. Zoe has been involved in numerous productions including lead roles as Audrey in A Little shop of Horrors, Sherrie in Rock of Ages that was performed at Swansea’s famous Sin City. Fast forward a little, and you’d find her playing the leads of Judy in 9 to 5 and Adelaide in Guys and Dolls, as well as a stint fronting a South Wales based covers band. She studied for her level 3 BTEC in performing arts during this time. In recent years, singing has become Zoe’s main passion. Diversifying her range by exploring new genres such as rock and pop, and writing her own songs while completing an HND in music in 2021.
